Abadi: Kirkuk's Decision to Participate in Kurdistan Referendum "Wrong"
TNAnews- Baghdad| Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi stated on Tuesday that Kirkuk Provincial Council's vote to run Kurdistan Region's Independence referendum in the province is "wrong."
Abadi made the comment in his weekly address, shortly after Kirkuk council ratified the decision by 24 votes.
Some members of the council boycotted the session. A number of Turkmen politicians and representatives later held a press conference, condemning the decision.
They said the decision is not inclusive and promised to take legal action against the council.
The independence vote will take place on September 25, 2017 across the Kurdistan Region and Kurdistani areas beyond Kurdistan Region's administration.
